    Brave Fencer Musashi

What we have here is a Square attempt at an action RPG in the vein of Zelda. Did it succeed? Well I've never revealed the answer to that in the first paragraph yet, and I'm not going to start now.

The game is basically a kiddy version of Zelda with a couple innovations. In this game you have two swords, a basic powerful sword and one that lets you steal your enemies' moves. Most of these moves are useless and a waste of MP, but sometimes they come in handy. Wait, did I call this innovative? This is just a rip off of Kirby's Fucking Adventure.

The game has quite a bit of variety to it, but some of it is downright awful. If you've ever played it, two words: Steam Valves. I guarantee you're in the fetal position right now. If you haven't, be thankful. Other than some minor crapfests, the game is pretty fun. The only thing I don't like about it is that there are only like 4 areas - the town, the forest, the mountain, and the mines. If you're going to make me play a 30 hour game in the same 4 areas, at least make them fucking interesting. Every game since pong had those stages. I hated the goddamn forest in Pong, it makes me want to cock slap a goat.

I said the game was kiddy, but it's a hard ass game. Part of that is due to the control, sometimes it's ok, other times you might as well be waving your dick at the screen. The graphics are decent, ugly now but considering this was like 1998 they aren't bad. The music is nice, but you won't hear it because you'll have turned the game off due to the shitty voice acting. People complain about the laughing scene in FFX, it's an eargasm compared to this shite.

I know I've said nothing positive about the game, but it's still a decent action RPG. It's just really frustrating in some parts. Precision jumping + questionable controls = me swearing until my mother tells me to go outside and do something with my life instead of playing 10 year old games and bitching about them on a message board.

    Overall: 6.6/10: Passable

    Re: Brave Fencer Musashi

I remember this game lol. I think I beat it when I rented it.

What we are is the sum of a thousand lies
What we know is almost nothing at all
But we are what we are 'til the day we die
Or 'til we don't have the strength to go on
