Evilbob's Daily Reviews: 64th Street: A Detective Story

The following game may cause homosexuality in young children. Parental discretion is advised. So here we have a shitty fucking arcade beat em up from the assholes at Jaleco. What's this one about? Take a fucking guess - some bitch got kidnapped, it's up to you to save her, etc. This one is set in 1939 and you play as one of two detectives - former professional wrestler Ravishing Rick Rude (RIP) and some faggot named Allen. Protip: Choose the guy with the stache. The game begins with Rick r...

Evilbob's Daily Reviews: Mario & Luigi - Superstar Saga

So we're back after a brief break with a great game that I doubt any of you have played, Mario and Luigi - Superstar Saga. This is a game that's somewhat similar to the Paper Mario series, but more action-oriented. You can jump to avoid enemy attacks in battle and the game has a ton of platforming elements. Though this has its drawbacks, as I'll explain. The story in this game is that the evil hermaphrodite (it's heavily implied) Cackletta has stolen the Princess' voice, which he/she wants t...

Evilbob's Daily Reviews: New Super Mario Bros Wii

Today's game is the recently released NSMB:W. Ok it was released in November, but considering half the games I talk about were released before MasterFunk was born, it's recent enough. NSMBW is a modern take on the classic Mario Bros games, and a sequel to NSMB on the DS. This game added new features, such as a propellor hat and the ability to play with 4 players at once. Was this a good idea? Read on and find out. The story in this game is... fuck it, you already know. This time two toads...

Evilbob's Daily Reviews: Streets of Rage

I'm going to do something a bit different this time, instead of reviewing one game I'm going to review the whole cock slapping series. The Streets of Rage games were released on the Genesis as a kind of competition to the Final Fight series on the SNES. They've since been re-released about 300 times, on Virtual Console, compilation disks, etc. Are these games good, or do they suck ass? Well, read on nancy boy. The first Streets of Rage game was released in 1991 apparently, and was a...

Evilbob's Daily Reviews: Super Mario RPG

So what do you get when you combine the iconic Mario with the greatest RPG developer of all time? You get one ass raping good time motherfucker. I'm sure everyone has played this game, but if you haven't I suggest you download it and then kill yourself for not playing it sooner. This game is a great blend of Mario style platforming with traditional RPG elements, with a unique battle system thrown in. Instead of just choosing attack and watching, you can press the button again at the right...

Evilbob's Daily Reviews: Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest

Here's the bastard child of the Final Fantasy series, Mystic Quest. Square made this dumbed down RPG to appeal to the US consumers, who we all know are idiots. I mean let's face it, you elected George W Bush twice. Reading the box makes you feel like a retard, "entry level gaming" and free strategy guides make you feel like you're playing the Hooked On Phonics version of Final Fantasy. For a game that was supposed to be easy they certainly made the first battle difficult. It takes me...

Evilbob's Daily Reviews: The Simpsons: Hit and Run

There have been tons of Simpsons games over the years, and most of them are crap. Outside of the Simpsons arcade game, there really weren't many good games featuring everyone's favorite family (outside of the Manson family anyway). Then someone looked at GTA 3, thought "Holy shit, people like that", and decided to rip it off hardcore. Did they succeed? Will I post pictures of Gwen Stefani? Does anyone really give a shit? Read on and find out. What we have here is a free roaming game like ...

    Evilbob's Daily Reviews: Suikoden

Most people aren't familiar with the Suikoden series, other than maybe knowing that Suikoden 2 goes for about $300 on Ebay. Though hard to find, the games are all solid RPGs. Suikoden was one of the first RPGs for the Playstation, and it's a pretty good start to the amazing collection of RPGs the PSX had by the time it was abandoned in favor of the PS2. Suikoden isn't exactly groundbreaking, but it did have some innovative ideas. First off, notice that you fight with six charact...

Evilbob's Daily Reviews: GTA San Andreas

I'm not all about the classic consoles. Here's one from 2004: Now I'm not going to lie, I'm not overly fond of this game. I love the GTA games, but I don't really like San Andreas. I can see why other people would like it, but I just can't get into it. First, the story doesn't appeal to me. It's like, you're a black guy who wears green and you kill black guys who wear purple for the first 10 hours of the game. After you get out of the first city the game just gets weird. The only boss I ...

    Evilbob's Daily Reviews: WWF RAW

Today we have a game about everyone's favorite real sport: professional wrestling Pretty much standard fare - beat up a guy and then lie on top of him in non homosexual fashion to win. Only this game has fat guys and a chick Yeah nothing better than beating up women. I especially enjoy her manly screams of pain, they make my tighty whiteys tighter and whiter. Fucking clowns, they always scared me. The best part of this game is picking up a bucket and whacking that stupid re...

  • Evilbob's Daily Reviews: River City Ransom
    by Evilbob
Yeah we're breaking into 8 bit territory now. River City Ransom is another beat 'em up, only this one has RPG elements added to it. When you kill someone you earn money, which you can use to buy items to upgrade your stats and learn new moves. Do these upgraded stats do anything? I don't think so. Do you need the new moves? I doubt it. But still, it's a nice feature. So what's the point of this game? Well you have to rescue your *sigh* girlfriend from *sigh* a gang of thugs. There are differ...

  • Evilbob's Daily Reviews: Chrono Trigger
    by Evilbob
I'm sure most of you have played this game, but if you haven't, go find an emulator and play it. Like right now. I don't care if your dog is shitting itself and your grandma is having a heart attack on your living room floor, this is more important. Chrono Trigger is an amazing and innovative RPG that could very easily be called the best of all time. Incorporating time travel and light sci-fi elements into a traditional medieval style RPG was a great move and it's a shame the sequel sucked...

  • Evilbob's Daily Review: Mario is Missing
    by Evilbob

Everyone knows video games make people stupid. I mean I played them throughout my childhood and I have a 4.1 GPA, so obviously something must be done. Back in 1993 they decided to combine the most popular character in gaming (no not Bubsy, Mario) with educational content. The result was a giant failure, the game wasn't much fun and the educational content was lacking as well.

I'm not 100% sure on the story, something about Bowser kidnapped Mario (I guess the princes...

  • Evilbob's Daily Reviews: Kirby's Adventure
    by Evilbob
This is probably my favorite NES game. That isn't saying much though, I don't like a lot of NES games, but nonetheless it's a great game. Kirby's Adventure is a innovative platformer where you can fly and steal skills from your enemies by eating them. This gives you a ton of different ways to play through the game, which is a great feature in any game. The graphics are nice, this came out late in the Nintendo's life and it doesn't look good compared to the SNES games of the time, but ...

  • Evilbob's Daily Reviews: Kingdom Hearts
    by Evilbob
Ok we're back after a brief break with the shittiest, most overrated game ever made. Kingdom Hearts. So what's this game about? Fucked if I know, some kid lives on an island with his gay friend, Wakka, and a bunch of coconuts. Then he ends up in Walt Disney World after tripping on some mushrooms he found under a rock. Seriously, the only way anything in this game makes sense is if you look at it as one big drug trip. So here's your heroes: Some kid with Cloud's hair and MC Hammer's pa...

    by Evilbob
The box tries to warn you away from this game before you even play it. Two of the least intimidating "punks" ever grace the cover of this assburger. It's a game like Final Fight, only 100 times crappier. Note: The guy on the left turned into the chocolate rain guy and the one on the right was on Saved by the Bell. Where do I begin with this game? The locations you fight in are generic as all hell - a forest, mountains, city streets, a skyscraper, all been done before. The graphics are horri...
